The Resident
Co-payment rates are set by the Ministry of Health
and Long-Term Care and the same rate applies
for all nursing homes in the province. Revisions
to the rates are based on changes in the payment
entitlement for Old Age Security (OAS), the Guaranteed
Income Supplement (GIS), and the Guaranteed Annual
Income Supplement (GAINS) and these are reviewed
on an annual basis.
The Ministry of Health
and Long-Term Care provides for a pro-rated
assistance plan for basic accommodation rooms
for those individuals with income restrictions.
This will be reviewed at time of admission.
There is no rate reduction for preferred
accommodations.
